Royal Salesas

This building was built at the end of the 19th century, in a prosperous expansion axis of the city of Burgos, in front of the old Barrantes Hospital and next to the remains of the medieval wall. It constitutes a clear example of the neo-Gothic style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was the architect, Juan Bautista Lázaro who designed this church, dedicated to The Visitation. The church tries to simulate the elements of the French Gothic prevailing in the Burgos Cathedral. It stands out for its central tower, designed by the architect, Juan Moya Idígoras. The convent of the Salesas has been inhabited by this congregation since 1901. 🗺 How to get there? It is located 8 minutes walk from the Burgos Town Hall.
