The Arch of Fernán González, built by the master Juan Ortega de Castañeda between 1584 and 1587, was erected in memory of Count Fernán González, at the request of the city council. This monument was built on the site where Fernán González's residence was located in the old Tenebregosa Street, today Fernán González Street. 💡Curiosities It is a great triumphal arch in a sober classicist style in the form of a semicircular arch flanked by Tuscan columns and topped by several shields, with a dedication written by Fray Luis de León. 🗺 How to get there? It is located 7 minutes walk from the Burgos Town Hall. To access by car, you will find a parking lot 7 minutes away, located in Plaza Vega.
