The Castle of Burgos was founded in 884 by Count Diego Porcelos, giving rise to the city of Burgos, which grew in its environment, witnessing momentous moments in the history of this Castle. During the war of independence the French troops blew up the castle's arsenal, reducing it to the ruins that have been preserved to this day. The castle park has different attractions to visit: the Bird Outreach Center, the Underground Galleries of the Castle and the Ropes Park. 💡Curiosities The castle well, almost 63 meters deep, is one of the deepest in Europe, and legend has it that the French hid a great treasure, currently lost in the network of galleries that run underground. 🦽 Accessibility The castle has access for people with reduced mobility by means of a ramp. Its interior and the museum are wheelchair accessible, except for the underground galleries and towers. There are no adapted toilets. It has videos with subtitles for hearing accessibility. Regarding visual accessibility, guide pets are allowed, and there are no elements that could pose an obstacle to people with visual disabilities. 🗺 How to get there? It is located 16 minutes walk from the Burgos Town Hall, and 7 minutes by car.
