The creation of the Museum of Burgos dates from the mid-19th century, in order to protect and catalog the works of artistic value from the province as a result of the Confiscation of the year 1835. This museum is one of the pleasant hidden surprises that the city of Burgos offers. It is considered one of the best provincial museums for its artistic collections that occupy two adjoining Renaissance-style palaces: the Casa de Miranda, with a beautiful doorway and patio, and the Casa de Íñigo Angulo. The museum is divided into two sections: the archeology and the fine arts. 💡Curiosities In the near future, the exhibition space will be expanded by adding the adjoining Casa Melgosa and the old Calatrava cinemas. Among the most outstanding pieces in the museum's collection we find the Tizona sword, important remains from the Roman city of Clunia, or the front of Santo Domingo de Silos. 🦽 Accessibility The museum has access for people with reduced mobility, through an access ramp. Inside the building there is an elevator and wheelchair availability. There are no adapted bathrooms. Regarding visual accessibility: there are no elements that could pose an obstacle to people with visual disabilities. 🗺 How to get there? It is located 7 minutes walk from the Burgos Town Hall. To access by car, you will find a parking lot 3 minutes away, located in Plaza Vega. Also located 1 minute walk from Burgos bus station. 📍Surrounding area In its surroundings you can also find the Church of San Cosme and San Damián, the Hospital de la Concepción and La Glera.
