San Amaro's hermitage

Next to the Hospital del Rey stands the hermitage of San Amaro, where tradition says that this saint is buried, who dedicated his life to the care and assistance of the Jacobean pilgrims. In the center of the hermitage there is a sarcophagus on which a recumbent figure of the saint appears. In the presbytery, a neo-Gothic altarpiece from 1907 stands out. Until recently this space was full of ex-vows, a sign of the people's gratitude for the alleged miraculous intervention of San Amaro. 🗺 How to get there?
